Analyze License Files

Welcome to the Analyze license file page. By now you have hopefully obtained your copy of Analyze and have been directed to this page to obtain a license file. (Note: if you need a copy of the Analyze Installation Instructions, download a copy from the downloads page.)

An Analyze license file is required to successfully run Analyze. It is a text file which contains encrypted information about the system you will run Analyze on, and how long your license is valid for. For Analyze evaluations, we typically send a license file with a 30 day expiration. For Analyze purchases, licenses are indefinite, however, we always distribute the license file in increments of 12 months, to allow you to change the system on which Analyze runs.

There are three steps to obtaining and installing a license file:

1. Obtain system information about your computer.

2. Send an e-mail to us with your system information and your contact information. We will generate and send the license file back to you by e-mail.

3. Install the license file.

Each of these steps are now explained:

Step 1: Obtain system information about your computer

For PCs running Windows Vista/XP/XP x64/2000, there are two pieces of information we require to generate your license file: the Host Name and the ID or Physical Address. Specific instructions on obtaining this information can be found here.

For UNIX workstations, there are two pieces of information we require to generate your license file: the HOSTNAME and the SYSTEM ID. Specific instructions on obtaining this information can be found here.

For Linux systems, there are two pieces of information we require to generate your license file: the HOSTNAME and the SYSTEM ID. Specific instructions on obtaining this information can be found here.

For Macintosh systems running Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5, there are two pieces of information we require to generate your license file: the HOSTNAME and the SYSTEM ID. Specific instructions on obtaining this information can be found here.

Step 2: Send an e-mail to us

Send an e-mail to validate@analyzedirect.com with the following information:

a) Your name
b) Your company or institution
c) Your telephone number
d) Your operating system
e) Your system information (from step 1)

When we receive your e-mail we will generate and send a license file to you by return e-mail.

Step 3: Install the license file

After you receive your AnalyzeDirect.lic license file by e-mail, save it to the "Licenses" folder in your Analyze installation directory (e.g. C:/BIR/BIRlic-8.1/Licenses for Analyze 8.1 licenses, C:/BIR/BIRlic-7.0/Licenses for Analyze 7.0 licenses, etc). You will be asked if you wish to replace the current AnalyzeDirect.lic license file, confirm this is what you wish to do. If you are running on a Windows system, Analyze is now ready to use. If you are running on a Mac, UNIX, or Linux system you will need to start the license server process, instructions on how to do this can be found in your Analyze Installation Instructions, available on the Resources disc (silver disc) included with your software package or on the downloads page.

Please wait for your license file to arrive before trying to run Analyze on your system. If you experience any difficulties with the install, please send an e-mail to support@analyzedirect.com, or call us at +1 (913) 338 2527.

Thank you for choosing Analyze!
