Analyze is
a highly memory-intensive and processor-intensive application.
In general, the more processing power and RAM that exists on the workstation,
the better the performance of Analyze. We do not observe substantial performance differences of Analyze on different platforms that have similar hardware specifications.
Analyze 8.1 requires the following minimum hardware specifications on all supported platforms:
- 200 MHz or better processor
- Network card
- CD-ROM drive
- 512 MB RAM
- 24/32-bit graphics capability
- 450 MB disk space
Analyze 8.1 is compatible with the following platforms and operating systems:
Windows Systems
- PCs running Windows Vista, XP, XP x64, or 2000
UNIX Workstations
- Sun Microsystems (32-bit) workstations running Solaris 2.6+
- Sun Microsystems (64-bit) workstations running Solaris 2.7+
- Silicon Graphics (32-bit) workstations running IRIX 6.5.2+
- Silicon Graphics (64-bit) workstations running IRIX 6.5.2+
Linux Systems
- AMD64 Linux (64-bit) systems running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3+ (or compatible)
- PC-based Linux (32-bit) systems with an Intel processor running Red Hat 7.3+ (or compatible)
- Itanium 2 Linux (64-bit) systems running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3+ (or compatible)
Macintosh Systems
- Mac systems with PowerPC or Intel processor running Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5
+later operating systems supported if compatible with the OS listed above.
While Analyze will run adequately on systems that
have the minimum specification, we find that Analyze runs practically
every processing task extremely well on a system with dual processors
and at least twice the RAM of the largest file size you are working with.
